Recap: Bart's team, having infiltrated the Bledavik castle through the waterway again, makes their final plans to carry out their mission. Bart and Sigurd are to go after Shakhan while Citan opens the castle door to let in the rest of their troops. However, the moment they emerge from the water pump room, they find themselves right in the middle of an ambush. Shakhan and Miang had somehow caught wind of their plan, and had them surrounded. Miang claims that Ramsus is out making quick work of their west guard assault by Nisan, and that they saw right through the plan to make it look like Kislev was attacking. Things look bad, but Maison suddenly appears, piloting a helicopter machine. Although the machine partially breaks down, they manage to use it to retreat from the castle.

Meanwhile, Fei's team arrives at Vanderkaum's border fleet and breaks through the line with their gears. Vanderkaum's bumbling leadership leads to a complete defeat of the Kefeinzel. As the ship's crew evacuates, Vanderkaum deploys his secret weapon: Dora, a gear covered in large guns, which he pilots to fight Fei directly. When Vanderkaum's second defeat seems inevitable, Grahf appears in his gear, and offers him some form of empowerment.

Back on the Yggdrasil, word arrives that Ramsus has routed their forces at Nisan. As they consider their options, the Yggdrasil itself comes under attack. Attempts to evade incoming torpedoes aren't entirely successful, and Ramsus opens communications to request their surrender. The Yggdrasil manages to get a distress message to Maitreya on Fei's team, and Maitreya urges Fei to return to Bart while he attempts to hold off Vanderkaum in the newly powered-up Dora. Fei witnesses the massacre from Weltall's cockpit, and blacks out.

The standoff at the Yggdrasil is broken by an unknown Gear arriving and raining destruction onto Ramsus's forces before turning its attention toward Brigandier. Ramsus has a history with the pilot of the Gear, and gets in his own Gear alongside Miang in hers to launch an attack. Ramsus's Gear is instantly defeated, and Miang carries him away to safety. The newcomer cryptically asks Bart if he's "strong", before challenging Brigandier in combat and winning effortlessly.

Seeing this, Sigurd carries out a last-ditch plan that results in launching the Yggdrasil into the air and landing it directly on top of the unknown Gear. Even this somehow doesn't stop him, and he emerges unharmed, holding up the entire ship at once and flinging it back toward Bart. As they desperately try to control the damage, Sigurd insists that Citan leave in an escape pod. Citan's pod lands near the Kislev border, where he sees the wreckage of the Dora, having been completely destroyed by something.

Some time later, Kaiser Sigmund, the leader of Kislev, receives a report on a recent explosion that had occurred at the Aveh-Kislev border. The shockwaves took out two thirds of the Aveh and Gebler forces combined. Kislev scouts were able to find the stolen Weltall and an unconscious Fei nearby, and both were brought to the capital. Sigmund receives a visit from an associate of Grahf, who delivers him some goods, with a request to move the still-unconscious Fei to D Block. Sigmund doesn't understand their motivations, but complies with the request as thanks for their help.

When Fei awakens, he finds himself at an unfamiliar hospital. The doctor explains that he's in Nortune, the Imperial capital of Kislev. Specifically, in the detention area for criminals, known as D Block. Before anything else can happen, four men arrive and insist that Fei come along with them for a "Baptismal Ceremony". This turns out to be a test of strength to detemine pecking order among the prisoners. Fei is introduced to Rico, who the four call "champ". Rico's four underlings each spar with Fei one on one, after which Rico himself challenges him. Fei tries refusing to fight, but some mysterious force seems to invervene, injuring Rico, who then unleashes his full power and knocks out Fei.

Fei awakens in a hospital bed once again. The doctor explains that he was assigned an A rank due to the fight results. Fei finds a strange device around his neck, which the doctor identifies as a bomb, primed to go off if Fei tries to escape Nortune. Every prisoner in D block wears them. Fei takes this all in stride as he gets some rest before setting out to learn of his new life in prison.
