I'll be honest - I have no idea what the hell is going on here. Citan goes on about a blast coefficient calculation or some such and all I know is the whole planet turns to ice.

Disc 2 of Xenogears is taking a world that you really care about and just slowly (quickly, thanks to people in chairs) ripping it to shreds. First some people turn to wels, then the whole planet turns to wels, you've got the gaetia key in there, and now oh hey everyone is just dead. Cool, great. This scene was more of an emotional shock that I've held onto than anything else.
