Fucking Dan. Even when we're encased on carbonite Han Solo style, he's still there being a douche. But even Dan can't get behind what's happened to Fei when he actually sees him frozen there. It's kinda weird that Fei's just left out in the open where Dan and Midori can walk in on it alone, but it works narratively. Speaking of Midori, she has one of her very few lines here warning that Id is coming, and I'm not sure if she's meant to be shy, some form of overly perceptive/autistic, or (more likely) just a plot device to explain that shit is about to go down.

Fei starts moaning to run because nothing is going to stop this version of Id once it comes out. In my best version of Xenogears, Fei just turns into Id and murders Dan on the spot. A full game's worth of antagonizing for a single second of destruction to Id. Time for a remake.
