Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro NFC Payment Failure Solved!
28A couple of months ago I had to change my good old Lumia 950, because of its dying battery. So I had to switch to Android. Still not my favorite OS, but we have to accept the fact that Windows Mobile is dead (RIP).
I've opened my brand new Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro, previously I've read that it can be used to pay in the shops with POS. I have installed and set up the bank's app on the phone and some time later tried to pay with it. Just to face that the POS refuses the phone with a not so detailed message: ERROR. Tried several things, changing different payment limits, even called the bank's support line, but nothing helped.
Later I found out that there is a factory setting in the phone which prevents the payments. This setting is called Secure Element Position, which by default is Use SIM Wallet. Changing this setting to Use HCE Wallet and restarting your phone will fix this problem.
