Read everything here: This video reviews and demonstrates the capabilities of the XL2430T, but it also discusses the pros and cons of using a 144hz (or 120hz) monitor, and how strong of a graphics card you need to enjoy using one.

This is the long and uncut version I did, demonstrating the monitor and discussing my experiences with it. This is a VERY difficult product to review. It is a premium 1080p monitor being sold in 2015, and I really had to ask myself: Even though this is a GOOD monitor, is it really WORTH it? Answering that question took a lot of thought.

I have watched this video and realized that it would be beneficial for me to record a shorter version that just focuses on the bullet points and does not give the game demonstrations. I will be working on recording, editing, and uploading that video in the near future, but I will still keep this video up, because it does demonstrate the games, and it does give a LOT of information about my time with the product.

When the shorter version is done, I will have a link to it, and I will put a "card" at the start of this video, letting people know the shorter version is done. (believe it or not, it actually takes more time to script, record, edit, and create the shorter version that it does for me to give this very long demo)

***Update!!!!!!!!
In this video, I talk about how the RL2455HM looks better when using HDMI than the XL2430T does, to my eyes. I also talk about how the RL2455HM looks better when doing tasks outside of gaming, again, to my eyes.

I have decided to spend as much time as it takes to exhaust every setting on the monitor to see if it is possible for me to prefer the XL2430T when using HDMI. It should be noted that I've spent almost two weeks trying to accomplish that so far, but I am willing to give it another honest shot.

Keep in mind that preference is a highly subjective matter, and many people might overwhelmingly prefer the XL2430T to the RL2455HM, when using HDMI, but so far, I have appreciated the cheaper monitor's image better when using HDMI and the more expensive one's better when using DisplayPort.

***Update 2- My monitor is sharp, and motion is very fluid and nice looking, but my colors have never quite looked "right" for tasks other than gaming. Part of me wonders if I got a slightly bad monitor, to be honest. I think it's great for gaming. The colors don't bother me at all, when I play games. But when it comes to things like web browsing, the monitor has always looked slightly off. Like I said, it may just be that my particular model isn't quite right. I would love to compare my particular monitor to another XL2430T to find out.

For perspective... I have two other BenQ monitors I use for testing, and with both of those, the Black Equalizer setting is good for 1-15 notches of subtly changing black levels. Meanwhile, my particular XL2430T starts to look washed out, once you go higher than 4 notches. Just, in general... I think my particular panel may be a little off. It still looks great for gaming, but I notice it being "off," in other tasks.

With that said... I do love it for gaming, and I keep it around to do native 1080p / High Refresh rate testing for my channel. (as opposed to just lowering the resolution on my 1440p monitor)

I've seen multiple people say their XL2430T's have been great for them, so it's possible that my particular monitor is slightly off. With that said (and I know I'm repeating myself), I have always been satisfied with this monitor for gaming.
