Now we reach the final chapter of Akiyama's story. Chapter 4: The Promise.
The next day comes about. Kido and Akiyama still try to figure out where Arai is but to no avail. It's here we get some backstory about Akiyama and it's not pretty.
Basically, he was a banker at Touto. He was doing pretty well for himself until six years ago. He got fired back in 2005 due to embezzlement. He was accused of pinching money despite the fact that he didn't do it. He was setup to take the fall. They wouldn't press charges if he was quietly terminated. He tried to find the truth and spent his life savings only to fail and end up homeless... until the end of Yakuza Kiwami with the Millennium Tower explosion and 10 billion yen fell from the sky. Akiyama gathered what he could, a million yen. He would have to contend with homeless hunters. It wouldn't be until Arai-san came in and saved his life. Arai promised that he would turn it all around. But with Arai missing, things may be problematic.
He hopes to check up on Lily, but Hana decides to give him a job. To the Champion District, to meet with the owner of Marimba. This also serves as your last opportunity to do sub-stories, and we make sure to do that and then some. Plus, we also finish up the Shiobara saga. Let me tell you. It goes to show that Akiyama is one hell of a good person. Trust me. Many of the sub-stories are good too.
The story continues on in Part 9. Seriously, there's going to be a lot to go down.
