Around 2 hours 37 minutes to beat on Normal mode. No deaths until the final boss. At that point I went through the 3 or 4 default lives and had to restart the stage. I then went through most of my lives again to finally beat the final boss.
Final boss was tough since I had to do it without healing items (Shields). You start without power ups from the boss checkpoint. You can bring shields with you for your first try at the final boss, which was what I did, but ended up learning the boss well enough from repeated deaths. The game ran OK on this emulator. Smooth enough but the sound mostly didnt work so I was playing the game silent, with no sound cues, which may have made it a little harder. This game has unlimited continues and seems to save. You restart at a checkpoint upon death and when all lives are lost have to restart the last stage you got to.
One death is shown at the final boss, but the rest are edited out. The game plays decently but has some strange camera angles that make it easy to take damage at parts. Its solid enough overall, for a Panzer Dragoon/Sins and Punishment clone. I saw in a video someone was able to stack 3 shields in reserve but the game didnt let me carry more than 2. Maybe thats something that was patched in later to make the game easier, but cant say. Im assuming the version on this emulator is the pre-patch version but cant confirm. Could also be they were playing on an easier mode. As with some of these obscure games, this seems to be the only other playthrough of the game on YouTube (or online).
If you like third person rail shooters like Panzer and Sins, this one might be worth picking up for the 5 bucks digitally. Its decent while it lasts, though offers no real challenge until the final boss. Its definately more thrown together and sloppy but still enjoyable.
