Although you're restricted to playing Azure, the demo version gives access to both Arcade and Multiplayer, which is already a pretty good deal for getting it free. If you main Azure you can stick to playing the demo.

Some gripes I have in the demo is that the intro won't play properly due to severe choppiness. I haven't played the game in windowed mode yet so the intro might play decently if windowed.

As for Azure I guess he's either the pick-up-and-play type or he's a bottom tier compared to the other cast which is why he's featured in the demo. I haven't studied the character fully yet, but so far his fireballs and Crack Shoot are the most useful moves in his arsenal. The dash can be used for mixups although the recovery time is pretty slow. The QCB+punch and first super move feels impractical for anti-air purposes, and Azure seems to lack any launcher attacks that would take advantage on them. The command grab super is probably the least useful as it requires you to be reeeeaaaally close in order to connect.

I'm probably one of the lucky guys who don't have to open up ports to access multiplayer. When I tested the game mode I got an opponent right off the bat. The match was laggy, but it's really hospitable for them to let you try out multiplayer for free.

Featuring FGC personalities to provide commentary can add some flavor to the game, but for me it feels like they just get in the way of the game's quality.

Speaking of images, the life bar character portraits are kind of different as well. The older characters prior to the release of Kotaro, Azure and Aja, still use their older. Quite jarring since the art style are significantly different.

The bottom line is that if you can get past of the game's flaws, you'll definitely enjoy Yatagarasu. This is the game to gun for during seasonal sales.

I'm no credible critic, but if I'll rate the game it will be:

Graphics: 3/5 - The character sprites have captured the beauty of Street Fighter III, although they should have properly applied borders on the commentator portraits, instead of just magic wanding them carelessly. They should have used the newer portraits on the older characters as well, not to mention the lifeless backgrounds.

Sounds: 4.5/5 - epic soundtrack and theme song, as well as special effects. The only thing that gets in the way are the commentaries which are unnecessary. If this game is going to be streamed this will end up getting turned off.

Gameplay: 5/5 - like the graphics it captures the Street Fighter mechanics well. There might be some learning curve in learning the controls, combos, and strategies, but what fighting game doesn't? The multiplayer works right off the bat for me, which is a big surprise.

Fun Factor: 3.5/5 - the bland presentation, incoherent plot, and small roster might bore you after a few sessions, but if you enjoy playing against opponents online you can have a blast with this game for months. If the game will get tournament exposure and post-release support then expect a longer lifespan for this game.
