Yie Ar Kung-Fu (GBA) Review - Second Anniversary Stream Part 1!
Two years of streaming! And not a lot to show for it. Eh, I've had fun, and finished a lot of games on my backlog. A lot of games. That's one of the main reasons for this channel, so I'm happy, and I'm going to keep plugging away.
But for my anniversary this year, I wanted to take a look at a pair of games. There isn't a whole lot to say about Yie Ar Kung-Fu here, but what there is to say I wanted to get out. Released in arcades in 1985, Yie Ar Kung-Fu ate many of my quarters as a kid. It also helped lay the ground work for fighting games to come. It still held a bit of the Karate Champ style of using different inputs to hit different areas, but this one played more like a string of boss fights than just a straight one on one. And that format, of having different characters, would continue into Street Fighter, and ultimately help lead to the entire genre we know today. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
