Yokai Memory Gameplay
0Yokai Memory is a new and very charming freeware game from Japan which combines frantic oldschool arcade gameplay with a memory match system. Players must turn over pairs of cards to match them, but the cards are also the source of the sole weapon in the game, so stages automatically increase in difficulty as more cards are properly matched and disappear; players also get a hefty point bonus if they can get through a level without killing any enemies, but this is quite difficult to accomplish.
This video is the best run of the game I've been able to do so far as the difficulty ramps up quickly, especially since enemies can loop around the screen both horizontally and vertically. The music is also quite catchy and the game could easily pass for something from the 80's.
