Hollow Knight: Silksong is a Metroidvania video game developed and published by Australian independent developer Team Cherry. The sequel to Hollow Knight (2017), it was released on 4 September 2025 for Linux, macOS, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.


What is Hollow Knight: Silksong?
Hollow Knight: Silksong is a sequel to the popular action-adventure game Hollow Knight, developed by Team Cherry.
It is a Metroidvania game, featuring an emphasis on exploration in a large, interconnected world with tight platforming and challenging combat.
The game stars Hornet, the main character from the original game, who finds herself abducted and transported to the new kingdom of Pharloom.
Key Gameplay Features
Hornet as the Protagonist: Players control Hornet, who uses a needle for combat.
Silk Mechanics: Instead of Soul, Hornet uses Silk to heal with an ability called "Bind," which instantly heals three empty masks but depletes her silk.
Quest System: Silksong introduces a quest system with various types of quests, such as Hunt, Gather, and Wayfarer, allowing players to interact with NPCs.
