Welcome to my settlement - Bouvet Island (Bouvetøya). A mining company, Stat Oil, has found off-shore oil and has set up camp on the nearby island. Oil workers have brought out their families - meaning the island needs all the basic civil amenities that any town needs - despite being remote and 2,600 kilometres (1,600 mi) from South Africa - the next nearest large settlement. The city is taking shape, and now it needs a basic bus network, complete with weather protection and easy access. Since the island is car-free, an efficient bus service is needed to carry workers, students, shoppers and day-trippers from one side of the island to the other.
