You can install Linux, BSD, TrueNAS, Windows, Emulation environments, etc. You can even use them as firewalls/routers if you install OPNsense/PFsense.

I talked about why I can't use Linux on my main PC... but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't. I'm weird and do loads of things that most people do not do (music creation, etc.). Most people will actually be just fine on Linux.

Linux has gotten so much better, and it's only going to keep going in this direction. So, is it time to switch? Probably. I'm kinda a newb, but I'm going to try to keep this extremely newb-friendly. I think anyone who can install Windows, set up steam, install some games, install Discord, and use their PC can do all that just as well on Linux. We can argue about distros another time. I decided to go with Fedora with Plasma 6. Check out the video for the details.
