I know that people tune into my channel for entertainment, not opinion. I don't delve into opinion too much for that reason, but on occasion I have to.

Once every hundred years or so, Western Civilization is tempted by a new darkness, a new face of evil. In the 1930's it was in Europe, Mussolini and Hitler. In 2016 it is here in America, today.

I understand that people are angry with their government, and they have every right to be. Our government is almost totally dysfunctional, and our elected representatives are more interested in lining their own pockets and furthering their own interests than the interests of the American people as a whole. The American middle class has been sold down the tubes in an ever-increasing manner for decades now. We've been sold out, and continue to be. Both parties are responsible for this, and indeed as far as hurting the interests of the common people both parties pursue pretty much the same policies. Selling our future overseas for starters. Turning the promise of universal healthcare into a welfare program for insurance companies.

Donald Trump is not the answer to any of this. He is a fascist demagogue who will lead us into a new darkness. He has coarsened the level of political debate to the point that leading Republican candidates are talking about penis sizes. He is cut from the same mold as Mussolini, a strongman who said he would protect the people and make his nation "great again", but who really only pleased his own limitless ego and led his people to ruin. Today as in the 1930's, people had a choice to run over the chasm or back away from it, defeat evil, overcome the worst and most fearful in our natures. This we must do now, or face catastrophe.
