Ys IX part 5: Rebel with a cause
0At this point, there's only one Monstrum we know of who hasn't joined up with us yet, and he's the focus of this chapter. It's the longest one yet, and doesn't waste time adding even more questions to the pile once it ramps up.
This latest addition to our team feels like he plays quite a bit differently and requires some getting used to. I'm far more a fan of the direct approach, so I ended up subbing him out of the party relatively quickly.
This chapter also begins to branch out more significantly beyond the city, as we've seemingly explored as much of that as possible at this point. I was a little disappointed to find that the newly-opened area was mostly a sparsely-populated forgettable expanse accounting for roughly 10% of the map, in stark contrast to the much more detailed city sections before. I suppose the game does need to end sometime though, and given I hadn't even uncovered 50% of the map prior to this chapter, there were bound to be regions that are far less dense.
