Ys Origin - Yunica - Part 22 Boss: Pictimos, The Grim Mantid
9This boss.... this (Excuse me language)... this.. Motherfucker. It was a pain to deal with. I was forced to gain a few levels D:
Anyway This boss is hard for various reasons. It has 2 phases that activate depending on its HP. So I'll call them first phase (50%-100%) and Second phase (0%-50%)
The first phase is "normal" It's attacks are predictable (even though fast) to predict until the chase part ( not as Ys Seven Earth Dragon one lol) .. you can either try evading by running or fool the boss into attacking. Both are Risky IMO after taking away 50% of its HP .. it's time for phase 2.
Phase 2 is what I call "Nope! You will never kill me!" Phase. The boss starts to spawn some of the regular grunts that are found in the very same area. These enemies are the equivalent of "Auto-Revive". Which means that when the boss reaches 0%, it becomes invincible and absorbs ALL the remaining grunts to restore its HP. Afterwards it immediately jumps (causing you to try and evade his spike attack) and re-summon those grunts. It will do that same pattern EVERYTIME if 1) All or most Grunts are Dead or 2) reaches 0 HP with some Grunts alive.
In order to win this boss fight... I literally have to kill the boss BEFORE it summons those grunts... Fun times!
