Ys X: Nordics takes place after the events of Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished: The Final Chapter, featuring a 17-year-old Adol Christin on his way to Celceta, accompanied by Dogi and Dr. Flair Rall, from the former flying island of Ys.
The game is set in Obelia Gulf, a gulf filled with countless islands of all sizes, located north of Ispani and west of Gllia.
During the game's events, Adol meets Karja Balta, a Norman pirate-warrior, and takes part in the conflict between the Normans and the monstrous Griegers.
