Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel - Tryout Duel 5 (Vaylantz)
I've always wanted to play this deck in MD, but never considered it because of the high investment cost and the lack of a secret pack, including the two pendulum extra deck monsters that I don't see myself playing with. A lot of players just straight up surrender in this tryout duel, because they don't want to play against the "confusing" and "difficult to read" deck.
For the most part, Vaylantz is a fun deck that plays with adjacent movement and column control. There are a handful of coinflips, dice rolls in some of their effects. I really wish I got a chance to play more with them, but this tryout event gave me the chance to play with it. I wish I could setup boards with disruption via Chronochasm and Saion (who can do stuff when he moves on either turn).
The basic combo is with Shinonome and summoning her from the scale. Searching for Wars and popping another scale to get the field spells. From there you can get 2 monsters on via their scale effects and then move into Beyond the Pendulum/Electrumite. There are some column specific plays including getting a high level Vaylantz under the EMZ so you can summon Grandduke and then linking it off - putting if back on the field with Viscount then summon it with Nazuki or Shinra Bansho.
It is a very complicated deck and I would suggest looking up even more further information if you do decide to play a variant. It is confusing that they don't have a high scale and have to rely on the spirit scales, Celestial Magician or an Astrograph or similar.
