Well, it's been a while since my last demo showcase, and I'm back with some more! Today I'm trying out Zapling Bygone, a 2D Pixel art metroidvania that's being developed by one person, 9fingergames.

Zapling Bygone is essentially a metroidvania, but has elements from other games. It offers souls-like (ish) combat, a bit of Mortal Shell (though I don't know if the dev intended it to be) since you can equip the skull of bosses you defeat, and some Hollow Knight, since you can equip charms.

Now I didn't play through the entirety of this demo, but I feel like I went through some good, basic stuff, such as platforming, which feels really nice, combat, which can be pretty tough, and the skull system since I defeated the first boss.

Enjoyed myself a lot in Zapling, and I'll be looking forward to the release! Also I lowkey love this green jelly alien.
