The latest incarnation of Zelda called Breath of the wild wasn't always a super fun open world adventure. It started its life out as just a humble 2D open world game designed after the original Zelda games on the NES. It was then showcased to the Nintendo Executive Team and they loved it. Now thanks to the creator Winterdrake on itch.io you can now play a fan made recreation of that original Breath of the Wild prototype for free.
