Zelda II: The Adventure of Link; All Killables / All Collectables
A leisurely paced speedrun of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. We aren't skipping anything! All non-respawning enemies* must be killed, and all permanently collectable items must be collected!
An exception is the skull bubbles and orange fire moas in the palaces. These enemies respawn in palaces 1, 2, and 5, but are non-respawning in palaces 3, 4, and 6. Based on my analysis of the categories these enemies should fall under, I consider all skull bubbles to be unkillable and the orange fire moas to be killable. The orange moa is in the "large drop group" and would be the only enemy to give large drops (red jars or 200-point bags) that ever respawns. It seems that it was a mistake that they were flagged as a respawning enemy in the memory bank. The skull bubbles are in the "no drop group" which includes both respawning and non-respawning enemies, so it is not determinative. However, it would be tedious to require killing all of the bubbles, especially with some having inconvenient locations. Furthermore, there is at least one that is impossible to kill without using a Game Genie, hex editor, or other cheats. I decided that all of the orange fire moas must be killed at least once, even the ones that appear in palaces 2 and 5 which do actually respawn (there are none in palace 1), and none of the skull bubbles need to be killed, even the ones that appear in palaces 4 and 6 which are non-respawning (there are none in palace 3).
I'm still working on planning and routing this run, and verifying that I am not missing anything. If you notice I'm missing an enemy or item you believe falls under the "killable" or "collectable" categories, please let me know!
