Previously, Link explored Windfall Island, the most populous town in the game. He freed Tingle from jail and found the Picto Box. Then, he bought the Sail, which he needs to get underway. Finally, he played hide and seek with the Killer Bees gang and got a Piece of Heart. Now, he will work on a couple other sidequests on Windfall Island before he sails east.

Windfall Island:

Link resumes at the King of Red Lions' cove on Windfall Island.

In the town's upper plaza, he enters the northeastern building. Within, he talks to Salvatore and begins the Sinking Ships minigame. The cost is a mere 10 Rupees per game. The game is played on an 8x8 grid. The player has 24 cannonballs to find and destroy three squid groups. The large squid group requires four cannonballs to defeat, the medium-sized group requires three, and the small group requires two. Each squid group occupies a horizontal or vertical line. This game takes a little practice and luck. If you have plenty of Rupees and/or save scum, it is not too difficult.

For winning this game in 24 cannonballs or less, Link earns Piece of Heart #03. Just one more for another Heart Container! For winning the game a second time, Link earns Treasure Chart #07. For winning again after that, Link can earn 50 Rupees. For beating the record of 20 bombs, Link also earns Treasure Chart #23. Treasure Charts show the locations of sunken treasures throughout the Great Sea. Link does not have what he needs to dredge any up yet, though.

Next, Link enters the northwest building, Lenzo's Picto Box Shop. Since Link found the Picto Box hidden in the tunnels behind Tingle's cell, Lenzo is much friendlier to him this time. He invites Link to tour his Pictograph Gallery upstairs.

So, Link goes upstairs for a brief cutscene with Lenzo. Then, he looks at each pictograph on the wall. Lenzo provides background on each one. There are a couple of landscapes that Link already knows.

After leaving the Picto Box Shop, Link goes back inside and talks to Lenzo at the counter. Lenzo invites Link to become his pictograph assistant. However, Link will first have to carry out three easy pictography assignments. The first is to photograph someone in the act of sending a love letter. Link can talk to Lenzo again for some advice.

The location is the red postbox near the docks. Link can stake himself out near the large tree across from the postbox. The subject is Garrickson, a man with black hair, a black mustache, and red clothes. Just look out for Maggie's father. Eventually, Garrickson will come and mail the letter. Link must photograph him in the act of sending the letter.

Back at the Picto Box Shop, Link shows Lenzo the pictograph by using the Picto Box in front of him and selecting the appropriate picture. Link has passed his first test.

When Link talks to Lenzo again, Lenzo issues the next assignment. The objective is to photograph the most cowardly resident in town. Link must photograph this individual in the midst of cowering.

Link goes to the café above Zunari's shop, where he bought the Sail. The subject is Gossack, a customer at the table. To make Gossack cower, Link can break a pot near the bar. Then, he must quickly photograph Gossack while Gossack is cowering.

At the Picto Box Shop, Link shows the picture to Lenzo. Link has passed his second test.

Then, Lenzo issues his third assignment. Link must capture a man and a woman that secretly like each other but have never spoken. Link must photograph them while they are glancing at each other.

The subjects are Linda and Anton. Linda is a woman in yellow standing outside Salvatore's Sinking Ships. Anton is a man in shirt with horizontal blue and white stripes; he follows a loop through town. Eventually, Anton will pause a few paces away from Linda. Link must photograph Linda and Anton while they are glancing at each other. An ideal place to take this pictograph is from the front door of the Picto Box Shop.

In the Picto Box Shop, Link shows his latest pictograph to Lenzo. For passing all his tests, Lenzo rewards Link with the Deluxe Picto Box! But only in the Wii U version. In the GameCube version, Link will have to obtain the Forest Firefly before Lenzo will cough up the Deluxe Picto Box. This upgraded model will let him take color pictographs. This item is integral to the Nintendo Gallery sidequest, one of the most completionistic quests in the game. That concludes what Link can do for Lenzo for now.
