Previously, Link explored Dragon Roost Island and met the Rito people, including Medli and Prince Komali. He learned that something is wrong with Valoo, the island's guardian spirit dragon. He also played the mail sorting minigame at the Mail Center. Link helped Medli get into the Dragon Roost Cavern, but he should follow her and make sure she's all right. He will do so now.
Dragon Roost Cavern:
Link resumes just inside Dragon Roost Cavern. He starts on floor 1F. In the entrance hall, there are three statues ahead. Link must pull the western statue south and the middle statue to the west to gain entry. A pair of Bokoblins wait beyond. After defeating them, Link can use one of their weapons to light the torches upstairs in the northwest. This reveals a chest that contains a Small Key.
There is a warp pot just south of this chest. If Link hops in, it will teleport him to other pots that he unblocks elsewhere in the dungeon.
Link unlocks the northern door and continues to the second room. He can break the boards ahead with his sword. This area is a large chamber with lava below. Link must make his way around clockwise. In the west, there is a block that he must pull out on a lower ledge. When he turns east, there is a lava geyser to look out for. At the suspension bridge, be careful of Keese, unless falling debris has taken them out. Bomb flowers are available to blow up the rock blocking the eastern door.
In the east, the third room has pots containing water. They can be thrown into the lava to create temporary platforms. On the ledge in the east, a chest contains the Dungeon Map. On the southern side, look out for a Red ChuChu upstairs before climbing the ladder.
Link continues south to the fourth room in the southeast. Behind the wooden barrier ahead, there is a Bokoblin. Link must defeat it and claim its weapon. He will need this to break a couple other barriers, which are too thick for his Hero's Sword. To break the southwest barrier, Link can throw the weapon at it. The chest behind it contains a Small Key.
The northwest door leads to the southeast of the second room. There are a couple of bombs on the wall near the boulder. Link can ignite the bombs by hitting one with a pot. With a Small Key, he can now take the southwest door.
In the fifth room in the west, there are Red ChuChus. Link cannot access the northeast corner of the room yet. Behind the southwest barrier, there is another Bokoblin. Link must claim its stick, ignite it, and burn the barrier to the north. The pressure plate beyond unlocks the western door.
The sixth "room" is outside. A Bokoblin waits on the bridge. While climbing the ladder, Link should look out for lava periodically gushing out of the crack in the mountainside. Atop the ladder, there is a Kargaroc, a bird of prey. It may drop a Golden Feather, but the feather will have to land on a platform for Link to get it. While sidling across the gap, Link should watch out for another crack that spews lava. Past the cracked rock, there is a piece of wood that Link must cross with his hands. On the other side, he climbs to a bomb flower and uses it to blow away the rock. Then, he takes the door leading back inside.
In the seventh room, there is a wall of blocks. Link must pull out a center block and one to the right or left before he can climb up. This takes him to floor 2F. There are Rats in the room beyond. Link can offer them All-Purpose Bait, and they will offer to sell some items. They may offer All-Purpose Bait (3 scoops) or a Hyoi Pear, or they may offer a Red Potion or a Blue Potion. In Hero Mode, recovery hearts are not dropped, so Link picks up a Red Potion for 30 Rupees. After pulling out a block, Link can go up to find a chest with the dungeon's Compass. There is also a chest beyond the heavy barrier to the south. Link can burn the barrier by lighting a stick and throwing it south. The chest contains a Small Key that he needs for the northern door.
Link continues to the eighth "room", also outside. In the north, there is a Kargaroc in a nest. After defeating it, Link finds a Small Key. He needs this for the next door.
Link heads inside to the ninth room. Several Keese lurk in the middle of the room. Annoying, especially in Hero Mode. Once they are dispatched, Link can grab a stick and light it near the beginning. There is a brazier to light in the middle room, as well as a barrier to burn. Lighting the remaining braziers in the south unlocks the door leading on. The chest in the middle of the room contains a Joy Pendant.
The description is continued in the comments.
