Previously, Link returned to Telma's Bar in Castle Town and met her friends. As she suggested, he also met her friend Auru in Lake Hylia. Auru was studying the western desert, and he handed over Auru's Memo for Link to give to Fyer. Great, that lunatic again.

So, at Fyer's cannon in Lake Hylia, Link gives Auru's Memo to Fyer (time 1:05). Fyer sends Link on the Oasis Flight.

As Link arrives in the Gerudo Desert, Midna tells a little story about those who tried to take over the Sacred Realm (time 2:15).

When storytime is over, it is time to begin crossing the Gerudo Desert (time 5:33).

Just a bit southwest of where Link starts, he can Clawshot onto a plateau with the help of a tree (time 6:37). A chest on this plateau contains a Red Rupee, worth 20 R.

About midway across the southern edge of the desert, Link will find the Male Dayfly (time 7:40).

In a trench just east of the Gerudo Mesa in the southwest, Link finds the Female Dayfly (time 8:59).

Link Clawshots up onto the Gerudo Mesa in the southwest. There, he encounters three more Shadow Beings (time 9:51). Defeating them unlocks the convenient Gerudo Mesa warp.

On top of the mesa, Link finds an interesting structure (time 10:45). This is the stolen piece of the Bridge of Eldin, so Link and Midna take it back there. Naturally, this requires Link to have defeated the Shadow Beings that appeared on the northern side of the bridge. Oddly, the bridge piece fits in without plummeting into the river below.

Afterwards, Link warps back to the Gerudo Mesa (time 12:10). Removing the bridge segment also opened up the game's challenge dungeon, which contains fifty floors of nasty enemies. Link does not yet have the items he needs to complete this area.

To the northwest of the mesa, Link can use a Peahat to reach a secret ledge across the chasm. There, he finds a chest containing a Purple Rupee, worth 50 R (time 13:41).

Then, in the northwestern valley, Link Clawshots onto the eastern plateau. At a triangular arrangement of skulls, Link can dig into a hidden grotto (time 15:06). There, he can defeat two Poes in the tight space to obtain Poe's Soul #30 and Poe's Soul #31. After blasting the boulders, he can light three torches to reveal a treasure chest that contains an Orange Rupee, worth 100 R.

After night falls, Link can find another Poe hovering over the entrance to the same grotto (time 18:36). He defeats it to obtain Poe's Soul #32.

In the middle of the northwest valley, Link can find a small Bokoblin camp (time 19:38). Two Bokoblins are on watchtowers, and two more are by a campfire with boar steeds. If he gets too close, the lookouts will summon the boar riders into action. The Bokoblins can be defeated easily with the Hero's Bow and the Hawkeye.

Afterwards, Link can commandeer the boars. He can dash while mounted to mow down wooden barricades and watchtowers, but they are hard to control while dashing.

When Link has demolished the barricades and watchtowers around the campfire, he can find three chests (time 21:34): a Red Rupee, worth 20 R, in the north; 10 Arrows in the southwest; and a Purple Rupee, worth 50 R, in the southeast.

Link can also boar into the northwest (time 22:52). There, he finds a chest containing a Red Rupee, worth 20 R.

Afterwards, he boars into the southern section of the desert by breaking through a fence. A little east of the Male Dayfly, he can dash through two fences into a secret cul-de-sac (time 24:25). A chest here contains an Orange Rupee, worth 100 R!

On top of the Gerudo Mesa at night, Link finds another Poe (time 25:17). He defeats it to obtain Poe's Soul #33.

On some rocky ground halfway across the desert, Link finds a chest containing 10 Arrows (time 26:13).

In the southeast of the desert, south of his arrival point, Link finds another Poe over a triangular formation of skulls (time 26:55). Defeating it, he obtains Poe's Soul #34.

Link digs into the grotto underneath this Poe (time 27:21). The grotto is full of icky Skulltulas. He defeats them all to reveal a chest with an orange Rupee, worth 100 R (time 29:04).

After resurfacing, Link warps back to the Gerudo Mesa (time 30:21). Next time he will finish making his way to the condemned prison where the Mirror of Twilight should be located.
