Zen Pinball 3D - Shaman Table (Direct 3DS Capture)
This is a capture of me playing the Shaman table in Zen Pinball 3D for the 3DS. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my New 3DS XL using the aftermarket capture kit manufactured by Katsukity and installed/sold by Merki. This is a downloadable title from Zen Studios.
I decided to record some new footage of this game to get rid of the annoying stuttering issue from before. The video quality should be better as well.
During the first year of the 3DS there weren't many games that I wanted to buy, so I kept my eye out for anything that looked interesting, especially on the eShop. When Zen Pinball 3D was announced for the system I decided to give it a try based upon my positive experience with Metroid Prime Pinball for the DS.
Zen Pinball is a realistic pinball game that tries to replicate the physics of an actual pinball machine instead of the spinoff pinball games like Mario Pinball Land or Kirby's Pinball Land. While I prefer the spinoff games based on popular franchises, Zen Pinball is still a pretty good pick-up-and-play title. In fact, it's perfect for killing time in an airport lobby or anywhere similar.
Sadly though, because the 3DS has different size upper and lower screens, it doesn't really feature games that span both screens the way Metroid Prime Pinball did. The 3DS just doesn't work quite as well for pinball games.
Zen Pinball comes with four different tables based on historical periods and science fiction. Zen Studios also released some later pinball games based on licensed content such as Star Wars and South Park, but I don't think there's any licensed content in this game specifically.
In this video I played on the Shaman table. I think this is one of the weaker tables because it's so easy to lose your ball.
Recorded with OBS Studio at 60 frames per second. I'm using a New 3DS XL.
