The Zephyr train runs from Emeryville, California to Chicago. Reno is one of its stops. So, we decided to take the Zephyr to Reno and take advantage of some comped rooms at the Atlantis and Peppermill. When we booked the train tickets months ago, we had hoped that there would be more snow in the Sierra Nevada mountains, but as you know, there is a major drought this year.
The latter part of this video shows the Truckee River for Fly Fishing folks that are wondering what the river looks like. This stretch of the Truckee is a famous catch and release area. The trout are bigger and smarter than the farm fish. Side note: this year, due to the drought, the farm fish were released into parts of the river a month earlier than usual.
