No successes on this one. More zero sanity/evidence runs before the update hits, this time in Willow House.
The first was a living room Yurei that nailed me while I was trying to loop it in the kitchen.
The second was a Mimic that killed me - it sounded like it started in the kitchen, but might have been in the living room with me the whole time, I'm not sure.
The third was a Mare in the boy's bedroom. It didn't seem to leave the room during the first and second hunt, so I moved forward to see if it really was stuck in there. It wasn't - it came out. I couldn't figure out that it was a Mare, though - at least I eliminated all of the other ghosts properly, leaving me with Mare, Yurei, and Goryo (maybe Shade). A proper sanity sampling with candle in hand would have confirmed Mare with the lights off.
The fourth was a ghost that couldn't hear me through the kitchen doors, so I presumed it was a Yokai. But no, it was another Mare. So what I learned about the Yokai didn't pan out here. I'm not sure what to make of that.
What I learned:
- A true Mare test is a candle 55-59% sanity test with the lights out. If the ghost hunts, its sanity hunt range is greater than 50%, limiting the ghost list to only a few.
It was fun watching ghosts through the kitchen doors. All of these missions were deaths or mis-guessed ghosts. That's fair - I had a lot of success in this latest zero evidence/sanity run.
