Here's some fun pondering of how hard it would be to kill a zombie, considering that large portions of the brain are only needed for functions that the undead have no use for (or somehow bypass).

The typical situation in The Walking Dead, where someone jabs any kind of pointy object into a walker's skull and it dies instantly doesn't make much sense.
Basically their best bet would be the cerebellum in the back of the head, which controls balance, movement and coordination.

Sure, it's pointless pondering since zombies are purely fictional, but it's still amusing to think about, just for entertainment purposes.
