Zoofari USA, located outside of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, began as a roadside attraction way back in 1948. In 2023, David Cook, great-grandson of the founder Marshall Cook rook possession of the family zoo, which had become run down almost to the point of decrepitude.
Using some government grants and the last of his inheritance money, David is making an effort to rehabilitate Wild Safari USA into a truly modern zoo.
Zoofari USA has a vague African theme to it. Despite this, not all of the animals found within the zoo are from Africa. (They can' afford to be that selective).

The zoo's re-opening begins with the addition of a habitat for the little blue penguin.

Planet Zoo is a simulation game in which you take the role of a Zoo Manager, building habitats and exhibits and landscaping with vegetation, rocks, and physical props. You work to meet the needs of not only your zoo's visitors, but to meet the needs of your animals most of all.
