Ok you are definitely intended to take this guy on MUCH MUCH earlier than I did. I remember when I played the game I saw the sign saying he'd tear level 1s apart and thought "ah scary" and noped out of there and didn't even thing about him again until I took out the two bosses on the gear paths. Like normal jellies he has a jump attacks but this one causes shockwaves. He also has an attack that sends directional shockwaves. I don't have too much to say here. Maybe run the first part of the dungeon again and fight him early after you've made it to the midway point and gained a level or 2
