***These videos are gonna be long because I'm giving each chapter the entire video AND I look at every little thing! You've been waaarned~!***
----

Heya, I'm using this game as a way to test using my PlayStation Controller (DS4) as a mouse on the computer by using the built in gyro!

The Turing Test is another game along the lines of "Portal" and is also inspired by the Talos Principle (which I've never played). The main puzzle concept isn't too hard to grasp and they gently build upon it over time so there generally aren't any mind benders. The difficulty from puzzle to puzzle seems rather random, though, and I'm not including those that introduce a new concept. I've had a few I get stuck on for a few moments because I didn't know I had to power a certain device with an energy ball or some other fundamental problem.

In the end, though, the puzzling isn't too difficult and they do a few interesting things with the concept giving you those "aha!" moments. The story is neat, but it's kinda strange that you learn so much just by poking at stuff lying around and it doesn't affect the dialogue you have throughout the game.

It really feels like the story was made to fit around the whole puzzle concept rather than being a natural progression. Which is fine. It basically works. And that's essentially how I feel about the game, too! It's a good thing to poke at if you wanted a little more "Portal" in your life!

Technical Notes
----
The game was played around 120fps but recorded in 60 fps. I typed in "t.maxfps 122" - After "`" to bring up console. This increases the max fps from 62 to 122.

I played this game on my computer using a Dual Shock 4 Controller and controlled the first person viewpoint with the gyro. I used "DS4Windows" to set this control scheme up - usually I let Steam do the work but this was not launched via the Steam client.

I turned up the sensitivity of the gyro then turned down the "mouse sensitivity" (which the gyro is emulating) in game. This allows for a higher "polling rate" of sorts for the gyro since the controller itself is being asked for more information rather than the game extrapolating from what it has been given. Generally this means finer movements.

I turned off "smoothing" because, at least in Steam, it introduces a latency that makes moving with the gyro seem "heavy". It also sometimes kills small aiming adjustments because its function is to make aim more "smooth" by ironing out deviations in movements. This CAN result in a more jittery appearance to play, unfortunately, but the pros outweigh the cons. I also play the game itself in close to 120fps which makes movement more "smooth". There was one chapter I played in 60fps and I feel that the feel during gameplay and the resulting video appeared more jittery.

One downside to gyro aim: Pressing a trigger button will make the viewpoint jump up. Steam has a built in function to combat this, DS4Windows does not appear to have such.

I have a "Stop Gyro" function mapped to L1. When I depress this the view will "freeze" in place. This allows me to rotate the controller back to neutral so I can rotate the viewpoint even farther. This is analogous to picking up your mouse and setting it down at its start position.
