This is essentially a mostly finished game that was released in Australia only for the Mega Drive (Genesis). I say mostly finished, because I believe it was recalled. It was later ported over to the Super Nintendo for other regions and it'd be interesting to see if they cleaned it up in any way.
Santa needs to get presents back by attacking a million kinds of rats and other weirdos and save Christmas by tossing presents down burning chimneys! Or something. It's just a basic platformer! Nice art and animation though.

Being a PAL region game, this only goes up to 50fps but has a slightly higher vertical resolution resulting in more pixels on that axis (not a taller end size).
I'm using a Mega Sg game console for this capture with an integer upscale of x6 the original resolution to maintain pixel clarity. It's in 1440p because x6 fills that out more than x10 in 2160p(4k). No worries if you watch it in a different resolution than 1440p, it'll still look great!
I have things set up now so that the initial picture is 100% lossless with 4:4:4 chroma in an RGB color format. The file I upload to YouTube is with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, a necessary evil to save on upload bandwidth. YouTube then does whatever YouTube does! The idea is that the SOURCE is perfect. The less conversions you have in your workchain, the better, yeah?
Point is that these are pretty danged clear captures of Sega Genesis games!
Oh, the Mega SG. It's a FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) based game system which to explain in layman's terms (BY a layman): It's a "chip" dense with circuits and stuff that can be programmed to use so only so many in whatever ways that is necessary to replicate another "chip". Basically, if you can reverse engineer a genesis exactly, you can pretty much program this "chip" to behave like a genesis exactly.
I'm playing in "Fully Buffered" mode so that the game is running at the original speed. I've also cropped out the colored border Genesis games tend to have.
The sound has been tweaked slightly per (I believe) FirebrandX's recommendations and I've enabled "YM2612 High Quality Mode" for uncompressed audio. This will definitely sound different than a normal genesis because of the latter option. It's essentially listening closer to what the source sound would be like, before the Genesis muffles it a bit.
