09/18 || Relaxation Station || What is This Game?
0The extremely slow playthrough of all the Platinum and Clover games I can get my hands on, and y'know, want to play so no Bayonetta, continues!
We're starting up Astral chain and save for the focus on police, admittedly police mostly doing what we all wish they did, protect people, its a really fun game. Getting some weird Metroidvania vibes from some of the stuff in missions we clearly can't interact with unless we come back with kit from later in the game and there have been some...lets say problematic arrests but it really does not feel like the game is trying to make the police out as virtuous people here, maybe the player character because they're just doing what they're told and what their dad raised them too, but the way we arrest folks for making street art and are fine beating the tar out of normal people as soon as they red shift makes me already feel like this is not going to go for a the police are always right sort of take.
Honestly it feels a lot like it might go Evangelion-equse, between the boss's secret hidden boss and our synchronizing with a legion so well. Though I'm also betting on a plot twist of chimera's and red matter actually being humanity's fault, like the miss use of miracle element plot. We took something from them and just thought we'd use it up, basically fossil fuels if dinosaurs tried to come back and eat us all when we finish burning up the last of it.
