1 BILLION Fall Damage - World Record (1:08 Free Fall) - Highest Damage Ever Recorded
108Over the years, I have jumped off many high objects to see where you can take the highest fall damage. Starting at around 12 million in Verdant Brink with the launch of HoT, all the way to 412 million in "The Titan's Throat" during Flashpoint.
A friend of mine and I then discovered that Fall damage actually scales with Vitality. The higher the health, the higher the damage. The first idea was a max HP warrior, at roughly 42,000 HP. This resulted in a huge number of 811 million.
In later months, EoD was announced, proceeded by class spotlights and most importantly, the Jade Bot. Harbinger gets a free Vitality boost in its traits, and a Jade Bot Core: Tier 10 gave 235 extra vitality. Harbinger was now the new best option, with a health value of 48,270. This resulted in a fall damage number of 951 million.
Quite a few more months went by until ArenaNet announced they were changing anvils to now grant a +5% vitality and armour boost in PvE. This bumped the HP up a little bit to 49,942, and a fall damage of 981 million. Just a tiny bit off my goals of 1 billion.
Recently, in the 10th Year Anniversary of Guild Wars 2, a new Utility food was released. The Decade Enhancement Station. A free +3% vitality boost bringing Harbinger's HP up to 50,954. This is what created 1,002,781,952 fall damage. The highest amount of damage ever to be recorded in a singular hit or additively.
1 billion is a huge number. To put things in perspective, that enough to kill every single raid boss and strike mission in Challenge Mode COMBINED with 1 single hit.
Equivalent of killing Dhuum CM 25 times, or Harvest Temple CM 10 times instantly.
Why am I not using Transformations or Resurrect Utility Food Buffs for more HP?
Unfortunately Transformations and Utility Buffs have a duration of 60 seconds. 8 seconds too short to be able to have them active for the freefall. While they would increase my health to upwards of 100,000, the reduced height of which I would have to fall from would result in a net loss of damage, as fall damage multiplies exponentially as you fall.

How did I glide so high?
By turning off my modem while gliding upwards, I'm able to briefly allow myself to take an updraft slightly higher than normal (The whole map is an updraft). I then use the Jade Bot to boost me as high as I possibly can before disabling my glider and beginning the freefall.
