Soldiers from 1 RIFLES have arrived in Mali.

They are taking over from the Royal Irish Regiment, who have spent the last six months on Operation Newcombe, training the Malian Army.

Mali's soldiers are fighting alongside French troops in the north of the country, driving out Al Qaeda-linked militants.

1 RIFLES will be part of the European Union Training Mission in Mali.
