Scientists have already achieved a lot. Having eradicated diseases such as smallpox and explored the limits of the solar system with space probes, some are even tempted to think that scientists have an answer to everything. But if you take a closer look, it quickly becomes apparent that there are a lot of questions that you don't know whether science will ever be able to answer.

Number 10: The stone from Mount Satan
Also known as Devil Hills, mount Satan which sits at the heart of Kupang, Indonesia, became famous in 1992 when an explorer who went by the name Castillo found a stone that scientists might never be able to stop talking about.
The stone which had weird markings all over it, appearing as if two rocks join together to form something which we might otherwise call a work of art, has been a mystery for the geniuses of our modern world ever since.
Carvings on the stone, which include stars, arrows, the sun, and even a man, gave experts the idea that it may be a kind of astral chart used for marking ceremonial dates or perhaps a document of our solar system. But who knows?
But the fact here is that if it were to be an astral chart, then according to what researchers deduced from it, our solar system would have only seven planets with one sun. Well, we think that's almost unlikely.
As if the carvings were not odd enough, the stone, when placed close to anything electrical, becomes quite magnetic. Now, that's a change of story, one we believe you didn't see coming.
Some people believed that the stone is an alien artifact owing to the many reports of extraterrestrial sightings close to the devil hills. Whether or not that's true is still another mystery that science can’t explain either.

When we talk about puzzles, we think of Sudoku or probably chess. But the mystery behind these double-headed axes might be quite tougher than the Arto Inkala world's hardest sudoku or rather not.
These axes dating back to the 1700BC are so massive that some of them are even three times the height of an average man. No wonder many people believed that they perhaps are remnants of the tools used by giants that have walked this earth before us.
The labrys, as experts now call them, belong to people of the Minoan civilization who had similar structures that were used for ceremonial rituals only that the Minoan labrys was smaller.
But here's the rub; Minoans were known to be great inventors who would go a long way to create things like tiny seals from ivory or gold, and we also know with certainty that their labrys represented tools long before they were used as small allegorical objects.

Number 8: The Stone Walls of Glass
Found all over Europe, about 200 in all, especially in Scotland, are stony structures whose individual stone appears like glass. Yes, what a great beauty to behold! But as astonishing as these structures are, they've proven to be quite a hard nut to crack over the century.
The Vitrified forts or so they have been named dates back to 500 BC, and for the stones to appear like glass, a great deal of heat about 2000 degrees Fahrenheit would have been required. A feat almost impossible for early civilization as far back as that?
