Many have heard about the mines and all that goes on there, but only a few summon the courage to do the dirty and risky job. We have to admit that asides from extracting minerals, miners see the spookiest creatures and mummies ever recorded in history. Please sit back and listen as I take you through the ten mysterious creatures found in mines.
10. San Pedro Mountains Mummy
In 1934, there was some digging and blasting at the San Pedro Mountains in Wyoming. The miners were searching for gold and precious materials. While they were engrossed with work, they came across a small cavern hidden deep within thick rock. As the dust began to settle, it unearthed a heart-wrenching discovery. It seemed a s though the miners found the well-preserved remains of a human that was long forgotten. Native American tribes tell stories of tiny humans or spirits, so it doesn't surprise that these explorers found something similar.
It is believed that this tiny creature wielded supernatural powers to heal and perform miracles. Another school of thought considered them as peaceful people who didn't want trouble with any living creature. In another account, they were vicious creatures that attacked native Indians with poisoned darts and arrows. Although researchers label these humans a hoax, they further studied the discovery and realized that it was a whole human with a complete set of teeth. So that you know, locals named the humanoid Pedro after the footage went viral.

9. Van meter monster
The van meter monster lives deep within a mineshaft, but the world is in awe of how it got there. This bizarre mystery haunts residents of a small Iowa town for decades. In 1903, the town's inhabitants were startled by the growling of an unidentified creature that came out from an abandoned mine. Eyewitnesses say the beast was half-human and half-animal. It has an enormous leathery and smooth wing that allows it to fly all over town. One feature of this animal that got people startled is its remarkable speed. Locals say they have never seen an animal this fast in their entire life.
They also recount that the creature has a foul smell that could be perceived from afar. Whenever the residents encountered it, they fired guns at it, but it did not affect the humanoid. The first time it appeared, it chose to fly across buildings, and a banker claimed he had seen it fly over the bank where he works. On the third night, another man claimed he saw the same animal perch on a telephone pole, and it resembles a kangaroo. A teacher in a local school even called it the Devil himself. Occasionally, residents would hear a noise come from the mine and realize that their supernatural friend had visited.

8. Water scorpions
Water scorpions are creepy, but we don't blame them for that. They've been apportioned roles and are only living up to that expectation. These creatures are little crawlies that rank top among mysterious underground creatures. They prefer their solitary life in mines and caves. They feed mainly on beetles, flies, lice, and smaller animals they have control over. This insect's survival instinct is top-notch, as most of them are found in some of the world's most poisonous caves. Despite competing with high levels of sulfur, they still manage to overcome the odds.
These long-legged insects are one in about 40 species that live in the Movile cave. Most of the others would die from lack of oxygen or food scarcity. Currently, this unassuming animal holds the trophy for being one of the rarest fish in the world. They are found only in a few mines around the world. You'd wonder how this fish manages to survive its habitat without eyes. Well, it has an extremely sensitive nerve network that communicates to it the next move around the mine. Even though scientists have made some revelations, more is yet to be discovered about this enigmatic creature.

7. Olm
The olm is a strange salamander and one you may never have heard of. It spends most of its time underground, which explains why you'll likely find them in mines if you visit one. Guess what? These tiny salamanders have unexplainable superpowers. What do I mean? They notice low levels of toxic chemicals in their environment and also feel magnetic pulses. As far as living underground goes, these little things are close to being called real devils. Their sense is something scientists are still trying to unravel. Don't even t
