#10 Nioh - Main Mission: The Silver Mine Writhes
61Nioh is an Action RPG developed by the action game veterans Team Ninja and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and Koei Tecmo. In this game, you will be playing as an irishman named William Adam whose goal is to travel to Japan during the sengoku era in pursuit of a mage coming by the name of Kelley in order to save his guardian spirit Saoirse. Moreover, with the help of various historical Japanese figures, you will be stopping Kelley in his aim to further the war that occurs in the land using a mystical stone called the amrita and also help in reuniting Japan and ending the era of its warring states.
A game which received positive reviews garnering an average of 88 in the PS4 Platform and 84 in PC. Praise was given in its fast paced Dark Souls-like type of gameplay, its smooth graphics as well as its numerous options in terms of weapon usage and skills/magic. However, it received some criticisms in its story line, character development and how the game suddenly jumps its difficulty. As for me, even though I could clearly see that it borrowed majority of its gameplay from the Soulsborne series, it showed it could stand on its own when you consider how fast paced and more action packed this game is. Some of my criticisms though is how the game is kinda obnoxious in its content since its so many the game kinda makes it too repetitive. Regardless, a decent if not great game for those who are Soulsborne enthusiast and brings out the same familiar action feel the developers are known for in its games. Enjoy!
