As you know, I've spoken at length about Bill C-11, now called the Online Streaming Act. The thing is, that isn't even close to the Canadian governments war on the internet.

In actuality, there is currently a three pronged war on the open internet. The second prong is Bill C-18 or Canada's Link Tax bill. While I do post video's on YouTube, my main source of traffic revolves around my website at freezenet.ca. Thanks to the link tax, I could very easily be hurt just like YouTubers are about to get hurt by the Online Streaming Act.

For those who are curious about the text of the bill, a while ago, I published a full analysis of this here: https://www.freezenet.ca/canadas-link-tax-bill-c-18-tabled-our-analysis/ (there are links that point to the original text of the bill).

In the video, I mention numbers about how much money medium sized players will get. If you are asking how I arrived at those numbers, my research into this can be found here: https://www.freezenet.ca/pbo-may-have-overestimated-financial-benefits-of-bill-c-18-by-50/

If you are wondering about the fiasco about how the CRTC blatantly ignored my questions, you can check out my documentation here: https://www.freezenet.ca/crtc-ignores-freezenet-reporter-after-claiming-to-have-an-open-door-policy/

At any rate, I hope that the way I built my website will withstand this attack. Otherwise, things could get problematic for my website as I work on just trying to survive this onslaught. Either way, I hope you got a better idea of what this bill is about and the real life consequences that seem to be looming throughout it all.
