100 Coins in Dire, Dire Docks - Super Mario 64 Walkthrough
69There is only a total of 106 coins in this level so you don't have much of a choice as far as which coins you can grab. Keep in mind that you'll have to beat Bowser the 2nd time otherwise the poles won't appear and you won't be able to get 100 coins.
There are 5 coins near the surface of the water right when you start the level. The blue coin box will give you 6 blue coins.
In the second area of the level there is a line of 5 coins near the big hole. I do not recommend getting these because you will need to fight against a current that, should you succumb to it, will not only kick you out of the level, but will also put you outside of Peach's Castle. You can make up for these coins by getting all of the 8 red coins.
