#135 Virtua Fighter 5 PS3 Sarah Bryant Command Training & Quest (don't uncheck 480 for 1080p!!)
DON'T uncheck 480p if you're forcing VF5 to play in 1080p!!!
As mentioned in the beginning of the video, 0'56, I was running the game in 1080p here, because you can force VF5 to do that, even though it isn't officially supported, and it's the only game I'm playing on my PS3 now that I've dropped VF5FS (which won't work when your PS3 is set to force VF5 1080p), and 1080p looks nicer on my 1080p monitor--but I made what I found out later was a mistake in setting the PS3 to "only run in 1080p": specifically, in addition to unchecking the 720 resolutions in the PS3 XMB's Display options, I also unchecked 480p; when I came back and tried running the game again in 1080p later, it started hanging in the black screens just before you load your save game at the start; I switched back to 720p and it was *still* hanging...until I went back and checked 480p as well. So keep 480p checked even if you're forcing 1080p!
Even though I got that fixed (whew), I don't think I'll be running the game in 1080p again--at least not until I can actually record and upload videos in 1080p, rather than having to scale them down to 720p: my current PC isn't fast enough to capture 1080p60, and I don't really have the upload bandwidth, either! My scaled down video here has sharpness and contrast loss--it just isn't as crisp as the 720p I can capture without scaling if I'm running the game at 720p. So, back to 720p my PS3 goes!

So anyway this is me doing Command Time Attack (timed Command Training) and then Quest mode--on Hard--with Sarah Bryant in Virtua Fighter 5! I don't find Sarah as easy to use in 5 as she is in FS, where she's just more fluid, but the AI in FS isn't as good so I'll just have to learn her in 5 and *get* fluid through sheer overwhelming skill! Or something. : P Anyway:
0:00 - start
3:13 - Command Time Attack!
42:33 - Free Training - fave moves
53:08 - Quest! (on Hard) - costumes
1:03:29 - fighting in Sega Arena Coast (beginner)
1:13:27 - Sega World Route 101 tournament (novice to advanced)
1:18:40 - fighting in Sega Arena Coast (beginner)
2:00:24 - wrap-up and what's next!
Eesh she's got some moves with really tight, "on hit" timing, ugh. Did people ever really use those in matches? I'm nowhere near |337 enough. : o
Did struggle with her in Quest, losing a lot of first matches against AIs and having to rematch them. Lost so many fights to last minute huge Lion combos. ;_; Figured out some useful moves though, in particular, near the end, around 1'55"30, that mixing her forward punch in with regular punches and kicks can be incredibly effective and really steamroll through an opponent's guard. In fact I came up with a lot of good moves for her, compared to what I've worked out for other characters. The question is, will I be able to put them together?
Moves:
Flamingo throw (ex: bK~GP) - fast way out of the Flamingo stance and seems to have insane range--look how I magically slid across the floor to get Eileen with it @ 1'52"24 : o. Gotta get used to using this more.
ufGK - interesting approach combo
fGK - another interesting approach combo, maybe slightly less land-able than ufGK
fK - big float, I'm too scared to use these--gotta figure out how to get them in more
ffK - big dashing knee knockdown, hits crouchers (mid), pretty high success ratio--but you're dead if they block : P
ufK - somersault attack
ubK - back somersault kick, has more range than it looks but also slower to get off than it looks, I always get blasted when trying to launch it
ufGPK - huge leap over the opponent, quite useful for getting out of corners!
dPK,K - launcher for quick combo (similar to df,dfK but starts w/ Mid hit)
dK - decent mid
dfK - longer range than dK but repeating goes into Flamingo
fP - a Mid hit and turned out to be hugely useful, you can really pressure/maul an opponent by driving at them alternating fP w/ say regular P (High hit)
bGK - huge axe kick, leads to ground combo
dfGK - her sweep, gotta remember it's on forward
dbGK,K - low to high mixup, goes into Flamingo--don't think I had much luck with this, maybe worth trying more
Recorded 6/11/20 w/ PS3, OSSC, Framemeister, Elgato HD60, Hori RAPV 2017 w/ Sanwa lever & buttons, Blue snowball microphone
