0The A's start the new season on the road, as they travel northeast to Baltimore, MD, to face the Orioles on Opening Day, in which their Ace will join the late great Legendary Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver with the most starts in Opening Day history.
There’s some old history here, but nothing recent. In the 1970s they met a few times in the playoffs, with Baltimore winning the ‘71 ALCS but then Oakland beating them in ‘73 and ‘74. But the Orioles just haven’t been that good for the last few decades, except for a small burst earlier in the 2010s, and they’ve never been in the same division.
The last time the two teams met on Opening Day was in 1976, in which Baltimore won. Now, the A's look to even the score in the rematch
