18 Years Dell D430 - Windows 7 Vs Antix Linux 23.1 - Boot speed test - Dual boot
==========================================
Test Result:
83/53=1.57
Windows 7 is 150% faster than Antix 23.1
AbiWord 2.9 on Win 7 is faster, since it's lightweight.
==========================================
Dual boot MBR:
26GB - Win7
10GB - Antix
40GB - Fat32 (Shared Data Partition)
You probably want to install Windows 7 first. The order matters, but the other way around works fine.
Antix mini impression: It took their very knowledge person 2+ hour to lightly configure the OS. That is enough a reason to call it trash. A lot of text-based config files and a lot of incoherent menus/options. Antix also has a permission issue. Can't access local hard drive normally. 20 minutes for me to configure windows 7 perfectly.

Can a 2007 Laptop Still Be Usable in 2025? A Real-Time Dual-Boot Test!
In this video, we're taking a trip down memory lane with a vintage laptop from 2007, equipped with an Intel Core Duo U7600 and 2GB of RAM. While it's a snail by today's standards, this machine still has some life left!
I'll be demonstrating its current usability with a real-time dual-boot test, booting into two different operating systems and opening a text editor to gauge general performance. We'll see just how practical this antique computer can be for basic tasks like retro writing or even 1080p video playback.

While I've tested several Linux distros for old hardware, I share my frank opinion on their user-friendliness (or lack thereof) for the average person and why, despite its challenges, the distro shown was chosen.
Do you have an old laptop sitting in a closet? This might just inspire you to fire it up again!
