How to use Windows 10 forever and Why should you!! End of Life (EOL) Extended Security Updates (ESU)
You should use Windows 10 if that is what you want to use. It's that simple. But if you are dumb, and someone told you that you need to update to Windows 10, and you followed, then you are being victimized, and I feel very sad for you.
=======================
Windows 10 support ends on October 14, 2025, which is one month from now. I am going to show you how to use it indefinitely, a.k.a. forever.
First thing's first, I am a devoted Windows 7 user, as a matter of fact. Windows 7 reached its official End of Life (EOL) on January 14, 2020, which was five years ago. I am still going to use Windows 7 as long as I can. The difficulty of using Windows 7 now is that a lot of spineless software developers no longer support this system. Garbage software and garbage developers generally do just that, but there are still software programs out there that fully support Windows 7. If there is a problem, there is going to be a workaround. Despite that, I have absolutely zero issues using my Windows 7 machine efficiently. Fortunately, software compatibility shouldn't be a problem for Windows 10, as it runs on a similar back-end system as Windows 11. In other words, as long as software is supported on Windows 11, it should also support Windows 10. You should not have any issues getting the most updated software on Windows 10 for the foreseeable future, for the most part.
The only issue is getting system updates from Microsoft. You are not going to get them anymore after that date, but there is something called Extended Security Updates, or ESU, that extends the update support for up to three more years. Technically, you can use Windows 10 for three more years after October 14. Now, let's get something very straight. Having the system updated doesn't mean it is 100% safe. There are plenty of Windows 10 computers that get hacked easily, even with the system up to date. On the other hand, not getting the most updated patch doesn't mean your computer will get hacked right away. It is more about your own awareness and being vigilant. For starters, you would not put your D pics in your My Pictures folder. You would probably want to hide your D pics in a deeply nested folder, so even if your computer is hacked, the hacker would not be able to get your personal information that easily. Basic computer skills, boo. If you do online banking or anything else important, use two-factor authentication. Then you are basically set for life.
To sum up:
--Get the three-year Extended Security Updates, or ESU. This is a yearly plan, but it probably works up to nine years.
--Do not put personal and sensitive data on the computer. Maybe put those files on an external hard drive or something.
--Use two-factor authentication for all online accounts.
Done. Enjoy your Windows 10 forever.
:)
