198X Review - Switch , PS4 & PC - A Retro Indie Gem
In today's video, I take a look at and review 198X from HiBit Studios - a retro-inspired, trip back to the 80's where the arcades were at the forefront of the gaming scene.
198X is an indie game gem that released on PS4 & PC in 2019 and now with the 2020 release of the Nintendo Switch version and the upcoming Xbox release too, its great to see 198X 's charm, being shared with a further wider audience.
Playing through a series of 5 classic arcade inspired games, from 'Beating Heart' - a classic beat 'em up inspired by the likes of Double Dragon, Streets of Rage and Final Fight , to 'The Runaway' a game taking fond inspiration from games like Outrun. 198X is a love letter to gamers of all kinds, especially those who experienced the arcade scene back in the day.
198X focusses attention on classic retro 80's inspired gameplay , with an overarching narrative that I'm sure will connect with many gamers.
