3This is a 1 credit clear of Turbo Outrun, made by Sega and relesed on arcade in 1989.
I don't know what happened in the couple of years between the release of the original OutRun and this game. It went from totally awesome to super janky.
Granted Turbo Outrun looks WAY better in motion than still images. The car model itself looks pretty bad with the rear grill and the rideheight is that of a jeep. The scenery also has a lot of "noise" in it. Hit detection is also wonky and the handling is pretty weird at times.
On the plus side though, it's pretty nice that you don't instantly crash when you bump into things. I think they made it this way because it was such a janky game. They knew! The music is also pretty great.
