This is a 1 loop clear of Ark Area, made by UPL and relesed in arcades in 1987.

I think this is a fantastic game! A bit on the easy side, as I was able to loop it on my very first try but it's very fun to play. The game is made easy by the fact that you earn extra lives REALLY easy and the bosses are a push over.

The controls take some getting used to. You have an 8-way joystick and 2 buttons. 1 button is for firing while the other is to change firing direction. When you push button 2 you will shoot in the direction that you hold the stick.

Now, if they had made this a twin stick shooter, limited the extra lives, made the bosses harder and re-balanced the weapons (some of the weapons absolutely melt everything), this would have been an instant classic imo.
