Roy and Bettie, playing in the backyard. When we moved in the former tenants had not taken care of the yard at ALL, so grass could never grow. Packed earth is easier to care for when you have two dogs always on it...trying picking up poop off of grass compared to packed earth. We just left it the way it was.

Notice how healthy play means that the dogs will take turns, one will chase and then the other. Also, notice how they can both stop on a dime...normal play is often broken into these mini-sessions. From what I know and have observed, it helps keeps things calm.

On any day they might play like this several times. I love watching them.
