Kawasaki has unveiled an up-spec, Sugomi-influenced Z1000 ‘R-Edition’. In a menacing Metallic Spark Black and Metallic Graphite Grey colour scheme with green highlights, the R sports Brembo M50 front brake calipers and an Öhlins rear shock.

The high-quality Öhlins rear suspension offers both increased ride comfort while bringing the already formidable braking performance of the Z1000 to the next level, high-spec Brembo brake components like those found on the Ninja H2R were implemented. The Brembo calipers are the best available for mass-production machines with high-precision operation delivering strong, linear power which contributes to superb controllability.

Special graphics include a vivid yellow-green accent that contrasts with the bike’s otherwise dark colouring. Special tank pads with R Edition graphics are standard equipment, frame pads with graphics add to the design and the seat is embossed with the “Z” mark further distinguishing the bike from the standard model. At present it hasn’t been confirmed if this model will be making it to Australia with an announcement expected in the coming weeks.
