If you ask Toyota, they will tell you they have the best-selling nameplate of all-time, and that would be none other than the Toyota Corolla. Can you believe it's has been around five decades now? The sales continue to grow and we have five reasons the 2017 Toyota Corolla is only getting better.
Edgy Look
From a design standpoint, competitors are really trying to keep up. From the optional rear spoiler to the standard Bi-LED headlights, even the 15-in wheels, although we had 17's on our test car. The Corolla is sharp and it has a sporty youthful edge. The whole package just exudes attitude from head to toe.
Toyota Technology
Toyota calls their interface Entune and if you haven't used it, we really like it compared to others. Coming standard is a 6.1-in screen, but we were fortunate to have the upgraded 7-in screen. As far as overall function, it is fairly simple. You also get standard Bluetooth, and Apple users will love the standard Siri Eyes Free, it's a voice controlled system made for keeping your eyes on the road ahead.
Quality Value
Most people know someone down the line who has owned one, and they will gladly tell you the Corolla is built to last. This car is also affordable as it starts under $19,000. Even the top trim levels completely loaded up start in the low 20's. Now that is value that is pretty much unmatched in this class.
Standard Safety
Simply put, there are standard features on this car that even luxury carmakers charge extra for. We are talking innovative safety like adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, forward collision, even a rear-view camera that all come standard. Now how about a 5-star overall government crash test rating to hit it out of the park and you are good to go.
Efficient Drive
Yes, there are some competitors that are may be more fun to drive, but by no means is the Corolla boring. All Corolla's except the LE Eco trim level get a 132 horsepower 1.8 liter, good for 35 mpg on the highway for both the manual transmission and the CVT automatic. Keep in mind the LE Eco trim level returns anywhere from 38-40 mpg on the highway, depending on which size wheels you get.
Autotrader says
Plain and simple, the 2017 Toyota Corolla will keep doing what it does best. That's offer unbelievable reliability at an amazing value. So until you've taken one for a spin, the Corolla should remain at the top of your shopping list.
